Expect to spend most of your session on my table with my hands releasing adhesions in your tissue, gently opening stuck joints, restoring segmental mobility in your spine and, if we agree, dry needling to help your injuries heal.
You will be instructed in a home exercise program that is tailored to your needs to help you maintain the changes we achieve together on the treatment table.
To eliminate the persistence of your pain due to postural strain patterns I will use techniques from my training in:
- Postural Restoration – a method of retraining your muscles to hold you in optimal position during your active endeavors.
- Rolf Method of Structural Integration –
- a method of releasing your myofascial tissue to give you greater ease in your posture and movement
Dry Needling is effective in relieving pain, promoting healing, and reducing muscle spasm. Not everybody tolerates acupuncture needles and it’s okay to opt out, but I’m telling you, it works.
Your home exercise program is a prescription for self-care that is important for resolution and prevention of relapse of your pain. Consistent practice of the exercises along with manual care at Harmony Physical Therapy is key to a healthy active lifestyle.
